One of the first things an adult use cannabis consumer purchases is a cannabis grinder. Next to wraps or an apparatus to smoke from a grinder is the most essential thing needed to smoke. Sure, you could break it up by hand for the ritual of it all but who wants their hands smelling like weed all day? Yet, you’d think with a fairly simple process of just grinding herb that there would be few variations to choose from, but you’d be wrong. There are so many models, brands, variations, sizes, etc. that picking one can be an overwhelming process. No worries, RiverBluff Cannabis from Roselle has you covered. So, kick back in the cut, fire one up, and let’s learn about grinding some weed stuff.

Stages

The Stages refer to the levels your grinder has. A single-stage grinder has just a top and bottom and you crush your weed between them and twist. These grinders are great for on the go but not recommended for long term use. The most purchased grinder is the three-stage grinder. It contains two extra compartments. The first is where you retrieve your processed herb, this stage has a screen your bud will fall onto. The next additional stage is known as the keef catch. This collects the small pieces of concentrated THC that falls off of bud when grinding. Keef is often saved and used to kick a smoke session up a notch. After that you can add as many stages as you like with finer and finer screens to catch different keef from different strains.

Teeth and Build Composition

The cheaper the material used to build your grinder the shorter life span it will have. Avoid plastics unless it is an emergency use and go for something metal. If it feels sturdy in your hand, chances are it will be sturdy to use. The more teeth the grinder has the finer grind you will get. Extremely fine grinds are good for bowls and bongs but not so much for joints. Most grinders have teeth built for joint smokers. If you are strictly a non-joint smoker, you may have to do some shopping for the right grinder for you.

Electric Grinders

Most grinders are analog. You use your hands and twist, but electric grinders are making headway in the market after years of not living up to expectations. Now there are electric grinders for every type of smoker and every type of pocketbook. Most utilize blades over teeth which collects your keef under the blades. You can get ones with different speed settings for different grinds but if you buy one with one setting you will get used to when to stop for what you are grinding for. If you haven’t looked at an electric grinder, now might be a good time as they are becoming more affordable.
